The 2025 African Fashion Week North America (AFWNA) live fashion show will be held at the University of Maryland, Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, on Saturday, April 8th. The show is one of North America’s most high-profile African-Focused events, highlighting Africa’s top designer collections, art, and cultural achievements of the World.

The AFWNA Fashion Show will have a LIVE AUCTION supporting Mental Health Awareness through African Immigrant Families Together 501(c)3 non-profit organization while bringing together representatives of a wide range of immigrant communities from all over the globe.

Prepare to immerse yourself in Africa’s vibrant culture, art, cuisine, and heritage.

LIVE PRESS CONFERENCE

The African Fashion Week North America will host a live press conference on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at the Silver Spring Civic Center to address the public on its mission, goals, and accomplishments. The press conference will feature the fashion show’s partners and premier models.

In Support of Mental Health

In compliance with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regulations surrounding the global pandemic, Coronavirus (COVID-19), the show took a brief hiatus and returns to the runway, this time in the heart of the DMV Metropolitan area, at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center in College Park, MD. The show’s theme this year is “PASSING THE TORCH”. In efforts to fundraise and provide external resources for youth impacted by mental health who need access to wellness programs, therapy, and placement.
 
AFWNA partners with African Immigrant Families Together (AFIFAT), a non-profit that raises awareness on mental health issues within African immigrant communities in the United States. AFWNA and AFIFAT is collaborating with students from local colleges such as the University of Maryland, Bowie State University, and Towson University to participate in the fashion show and ensure that the voices of our youth are heard.
